What happens at a free inspection
Before we recommend a detail, a ceramic coating or paint protection film, we would rather see the car. A free inspection lets us look at the paint in person and tell you honestly what it needs, and what it does not. Fill in the form below to request one, or call (810) 529-0019.
What we look at
The paint comes first. We check for swirl marks, scratches, rock chips, dull or faded areas and anything else that would show through a coating or under film. A coating seals the paint as it is, so if there are defects, you should know before anything goes on, and you can decide whether paint correction makes sense first.
Then the areas that take the most abuse: the bumper, the front edge of the hood, the headlights and the mirrors. That is where chips land and where XPEL paint protection film earns its keep. We look at the plastic trim and the wheels, which some FeynLab ceramic coating packages also cover, and at the interior if you are thinking about a detail.
We will also ask how you use the car. Daily driver or weekend car, garage or driveway, leased or owned. Those answers change the recommendation more than anything else. A leased car rarely needs our top coating package, and a car parked outside all winter needs more than a single layer.
What to bring and how booking works
Bring the vehicle, ideally washed: a clean car shows its paint honestly. If there is a mark or a panel you are worried about, point it out. If the car has had paint work, film or a coating before, tell us.
Inspections take place at our shop at 341 S State St Suite 300, Otisville, MI 48463. We work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, by appointment, so send the form or call and we will arrange a time with you. There is no charge for the inspection, and afterwards you decide whether to book anything.

Is the inspection really free?
Yes. There is no charge for the inspection, and it is a good way to get a straight answer on what your paint needs before you spend anything.
Do I need an inspection to get a quote?
No. You can ask for a free quote without one. The inspection helps when you are not sure which package fits your car, or when the paint has damage you want us to see.
What happens after the inspection?
We talk you through what we saw and which service, if any, fits your car and how you use it. You can book then, or take your time and think it over.
Can I bring a motorcycle, RV or boat?
We work on motorcycles and RVs, and on boats through our marine service. For a larger vehicle, call (810) 529-0019 first so we can plan the visit.
